Basic Problem Solving

This one-day course covers basic problem solving skills that all employees need to understand. Topics include: problem statement, data collection, process mapping, pareto chart, run chart, scatter plot, histogram, 5-why, and concentration diagram. There are no prerequisites. The course is designed for all levels of the workforce.

SPC

This one-day course covers basic statistical process control. Topics include basic statistics, Individuals and Moving Range Charts, X-bar and R charts, and P-charts. Exercises and examples are used to demonstrate the concepts. Excel-based tools are provided to simplify the mechanics of making the charts; the course emphasizes the practical application of SPC. Basic math skills are a prerequisite. The course is appropriate for individuals responsible for creating, maintaining, updating, and managing statistical process control charts in any process.

Measurement Systems Analysis

This one-day course provides the skills necessary to assess the accuracy and precision of measurement systems. Introductory level statistics are presented as well as the detailed step-by-step procedures for analysis of both variable and attribute measurement systems. Exercises and examples are used to demonstrate the concepts. Excel-based tools are provided to simplify the mechanics of the analysis; the course emphasizes the practical application of the skills. Basic math skills are a prerequisite. The course is appropriate for individuals responsible for analyzing new measurement systems as well as existing measurement systems used in both production and process improvement activities.

Capability Analysis

This one-day course provides the skills necessary to conduct capability analysis of processes. Introductory level statistics are presented as well as the detailed step-by-step procedures for analysis of both variable and attribute data. Exercises and examples are used to demonstrate the concepts. Excel-based tools are provided to simplify the mechanics of the analysis; the course emphasizes the practical application of the skills. Basic math skills are a prerequisite. The course is appropriate for individuals responsible for performing and managing capability analyses for production and process improvement activities.

D.O.E.

This three-day course covers basic design of experiments. Introductory level statistics are presented as well as the detailed step-by-step procedures for 2K full factorial and fractional factorial designs, general factorial designs, and the use of center points and blocking. Exercises and examples are used to demonstrate the concepts. Minitab is used to simplify the mechanics of the analysis; the course emphasizes the practical application of the skills. Basic math skills are a prerequisite. The course is appropriate for individuals responsible for planning or participating in DOEs for process improvement or product development activities.
